Division 7A – Bendel case – Decision impact statement

The ATO has published a Decision impact statement (DIS) in response to the High Court’s decision in Commissioner of Taxation v Bendel. It explains the effect of the decision and provides guidance about trust distributions and the operation of Division 7A. If you have private company clients potentially affected by the decision, we encourage you to read the DIS so you can support them. The DIS is open for comment until 24 July.
